Where's my eye patch?

Happy Friday!   I hope everyone is ready for a fun-filled Halloween weekend !  After I dropped the boys off at school this morning, this oldie but goodie came on the radio and took me back in time.   This one is for you Amy!

You've got to love Will Smith!

So I was looking at photos of this outfit that I wore the other day and one thing kept creeping in my mind....pirate!  I had no intention of looking like a pirate when I put it on, but I do have elements of a pirate costume - the striped shirt, the boots, the eye patch (I kid!).   Anyway, I really do like this outfit.   I love that I am wearing 3 of my favorite trends of the season...stripes, skinny cargos and boots!

skinny cargos - Forever 21

Lace......

I am not normally a frilly, romantic-style, victorian kind of girl, but I have to admit - I love the lace trend going on right now!   Especially the lace tops in neutral colors.   It looks so "Anthropologie", and vintage.   I found this top in the Juniors department at Kohls a couple of months ago.   I don't normally shop in that department, but I spotted this cream colored lace hanging on the wall and I had to try it on.   To my surprise, I loved how it fit and looked.   It was pretty hot here yesterday, so I wore it without anything layered on top, but just think of all the possibilities - lace peeking out from cardigans, blazers and jackets, oh my!   What a great way to add some interest to your wardrobe!

It's all about the clogs.....

Happy hump day everyone!   Yesterday was humid and hot here, but I was determined to wear my clogs from Tarjay that I just love!   So I put together this ensemble that kept me cool enough outside and comfortable enough to go volunteer at school.   I really like how it all came together.   I felt casual and hip all day.   I just adore clogs for this season and they are so easy to just slip on right before you leave the house.  If you haven't found some yet, your might want to take a peek at the ones below.

Sorry about the darkness at the bottom of the pictures - on the clogs themselves!  Here is a nice and bright look at them:

Graphic tees......

So now that the days are slightly cooler and we can mix things up a bit by layering, I have been trying different combos of clothing to keep things interesting.   On this day, I pulled out a graphic tee from my drawer and threw on a long cardigan with it.   I thought it looked so much more interesting than a plain white t-shirt (which I have worn a million times - have you?)   Then I belted the whole look with a leopard print belt for a little definition.   What do you think - more exciting than plain white?

boots - J Crew (from ebay)

If you like the look, I threw together a few more options that you might enjoy:

Have a happy Tuesday everyone!
